Vegan Cashew Cheese Sauce

Prep: 10 minutes | Serves 2

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup of raw cashews
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 1 4 oz can green chile peppers
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • ½ tsp chili powder
  • ½ tsp salt

DIRECTIONS

  1. Soak the cashews either for 5 minutes in hot water or for up to 2 hours in cool water
  2. Put all ingredients in a blend them all together until creamy, about 1-2 minutes
  3. Serve warm or at room temperature with your favorite Alpha Food Burrito
  4. For color and texture, you can add sliced or diced jalapeno, red bell pepper, tomatoes, green onions and/or cilantro. Enjoy!
