The 5 Healthiest Vegan Snacks According to Health Experts

In 2020, plant-based dairy and meat sales were over $29 billion and were projected to increase to $162 billion by 2030. However, this population is substantial enough that many companies have produced vegan alternatives to popular snacks.

After all, vegans need a midday snack, too! Additionally, some people may not live vegan lifestyles but eat vegan snacks because of other dietary requirements. For example, lactose-intolerant people may eat vegan snacks because they don't include dairy products.

Alpha is here to meet you wherever you are in your plant-based eating journey! We care about making the best plant-based foods for any kind of diet. To that end, we'll cover five of the most delicious vegan snack foods below.

1. Almond Milk Yogurt

Many people enjoy eating a cup of yogurt with their breakfast. Similarly, others eat this as a mid-morning snack to satisfy a craving. Unfortunately, many vegans feel they must give up this snack. Luckily, this belief isn't true! You can substitute traditional yogurt with an almond milk alternative. Everyone can enjoy their creamy texture and the lack of soy, artificial flavors, or gluten in these cups. Instead, you can enjoy their natural flavors.

2. Mac'N Cheeze

Who doesn't love an oozy bowl of macaroni and cheese with their dinner? Unfortunately, practically every ingredient in this dish is anathema to the vegan diet. So, what can you do to get this delicious taste without eating those ingredients? Fortunately, there's a solution. You can get plant-based macaroni and cheese that includes none of the dairy or meat. This macaroni and cheese uses coconut milk as a substitute for regular milk, allowing the dish to remain creamy and flavorful. We offer a creamy cheddar flavor of this dish on our website!

3. Vegan Chicken and Waffles

Chicken and waffles are a delicious mid-morning meal for any household. Fortunately, it's easy enough to find vegan-friendly waffles. It's often harder to find vegan chicken.

However, many vegan websites include these healthy snacks. Once you purchase these nuggets, you can combine some delicious ingredients to make a full-fledged brunch-time meal.

4. Plant-Based Mango Salsa

Salsa is the perfect dipping sauce for several kinds of chips and vegetable snacks. Luckily, you can still enjoy a delicious mango salsa with your vegan diet. You can make this salsa by mixing fire-roasted corn, cherry tomatoes, diced mango, and other ingredients. This way, you avoid using any non-vegan ingredients for this snack. Once you find a recipe, you can create a delicious salsa to enjoy as healthy snacks.

Add the Alpha Foods Homestyle Chik'n Strips and season them with 1 teaspoon of chili powder, 1/2 teaspoon of cumin, 1/2 teaspoon of smoked paprika, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the chik'n strips turn golden brown, and then squeeze the juice of 1 lime over them. Warm the Tortillas: Briefly heat the small corn tortillas either in the microwave or on a skillet until they are warm and pliable. Assemble the Tacos: Place a portion of the cooked chik'n strips on each tortilla, followed by a sprinkle of vegan cheese, a spoonful of pico de gallo, and some thinly sliced jalapenos. Add Toppings: Drizzle vegan sour cream over the top and sprinkle chopped fresh cilantro for extra flavor. This chicken-free meal doesn’t cluck around. Enjoy!
